What is the area code for Oxford?
The area code for Oxford is 01865. Local numbers are written in the format 01865 xxxxxx.
Can I get a 01865 number if my office is not in Oxford?
Yes. A virtual 01865 number can ring any phone in the UK, which is useful if you serve customers in Oxford from another base or work from home. The number should be used for genuine business in or with the Oxford area.
Can I keep my existing Oxford number if I move to VoIP?
Yes. We port 01865 numbers from your current provider to our cloud platform, so you keep your number and stop paying for the old line.
How does the PSTN switch-off affect businesses in Oxford?
Openreach is retiring the analogue phone network across the UK, including Oxfordshire, with a fixed date of 31 January 2027. Any business in Oxford still using analogue or ISDN lines, or devices that depend on them, needs to move to a digital service.
